Joy is an RRCA certified running coach (Level 1 and 2), NASM- CPT*, and USA Cycling Coach (Level 3). She is also Precision Nutrition certified.  Joy specializes in athletes who are seeking to improve their current race times with a well rounded and balanced approach. Joy loves working with athletes who have a solid running/fitness/strength base to build on, and who are excited to implement new elements into their training to become both stronger and faster.

Joy currently coaches a variety of athletes (both canicross and non dog sport athletes) training for distances from the 5k to ultramarathons to 140.6. Joy is a member of Team USA in canicross and earned a 10th place finish at the 2025 IFSS World Championships.

Joy has multiple years of race directing experience and enjoys helping communities build and implement programs that promote health and wellness.

With 10+ years of coaching experience as well as her time as an indoor cycling and  fitness instructor, Joy believes the reward is in the work.

Joy primarily coaches virtually. But, if you're interested in a 1-1 canicross coaching session (local athletes or can be scheduled at a race/event), canicross learning seminar for your group, or want a quick in-person session to check your form, Joy is happy to help.

Jessica Tomkoski

Jessica is an RRCA certified running coach (Level 1), and physical therapist. She will be working with athletes who are new to the sport of canicross as well as those canicross athletes looking to build more consistency and structure in their training.

Jessica enjoys helping athletes develop sustainable routines around fitness while progressing towards their goals- whether that be getting started in canicross or preparing for races. As a physical therapist, she has extensive experience adapting training plans for those with past injuries or other chronic conditions, but recommends seeing a local to you PT for acute injuries, and she will happily integrate any rehab exercises into your training plan.
